One of the producers of “Twilight” saga Wyck Godfrey is planning to create a remake of French-Canadian horror movie under the name “Martyrs”. Shocking piece of news, isn’t it? But still it seems to be true. For the main role Godfrey has chosen American actress Kristen Stewart – the main star of “Twilight” series (“Eclipse”, “New Moon”). Mark L. Smith is working on the scenario.

The original movie was filmed in 2008 by Pascal Laugier. If someone hasn’t seen it, I’ll tell some details. The movie is made in the style of new French horror-wave (something like “Haute Tension” and “Frontiere(s)”) with a lot of blood and violence.

In 70th XX century people find girl being more dead than alive. It occurs that she was tortured in a special place. When the kid grows up, she decides to take vengeance, but suddenly the storyline opens new details…

So, I’m not sure that Godfrey is able to make adequate remake but I hope to…
